Despite Disney’s abrupt cancellation of Star Wars: The Acolyte after just one season, hope still flickers among both fans and cast members for a return to that shadowy corner of the galaxy. The series — which explored the waning days of the High Republic era — reportedly ended due to poor audience reception and massive production costs, but it continues to spark conversation within the Star Wars community.

One of the show’s breakout stars, Manny Jacinto, recently shared his thoughts on returning as Qimir, the enigmatic Force user whose relationship with Osha captivated viewers. Speaking with TV Insider, Jacinto said, “I am always ready, and I would love to run it back if they’d have me. That was a role of a lifetime, and I’m incredibly proud of what we did in The Acolyte and with Oshamir, with that whole relationship.”
Fans have speculated that Qimir’s story could continue beyond the confines of the canceled show. Recent lore connections even hint that his character may have ties to the origins of the Knights of Ren — a revelation that could open the door for his return in future projects.
With actor Adam Driver having recently discussed the abandoned Steven Soderbergh project The Hunt for Ben Solo, some have imagined a scenario where Jacinto’s Qimir could appear in stories bridging the gap between the High Republic and the rise of the First Order.
While a full revival of The Acolyte seems unlikely, Jacinto’s enthusiasm — and the character’s potential significance — keeps fans hoping that the Dark Side’s most mysterious new figure hasn’t made his final appearance just yet.
