Superman David Corenswet Reveals His Ideal Star Wars Viewing Order

David Corenswet might be the new Superman in James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe, but when it comes to fandom, his heart belongs to a galaxy far, far away. The rising star has never hidden his deep love for Star Wars—and recently proved it once again in an appearance on Brittany Broski’s Royal Court podcast, where he offered some surprisingly in-depth takes on the Skywalker Saga.

During the episode, Corenswet dove headfirst into Star Wars discourse, shutting down the idea that “Anakin did nothing wrong” and delivering a passionate analysis of how Qui-Gon Jinn’s death dramatically altered Anakin’s path as the Chosen One. Clearly, this Man of Steel knows his midi-chlorians.

But the real headline came when Corenswet revealed his preferred viewing order for newcomers to the Star Wars franchise: Episodes 4-5-1-2-3-6. This “flashback” structure preserves the iconic Empire Strikes Back twist about Darth Vader while recontextualizing the prequel trilogy as an emotional backstory before resolving everything with Return of the Jedi. It’s a hot take with serious thought behind it—showcasing Corenswet’s commitment to narrative flow and character arcs.

He even admitted during a Vanity Fair lie detector interview that, if given the choice, he’d rather wield a lightsaber as a Jedi Knight than don the cape again for a Superman sequel.

That says everything about how strong the Force is with this one.

While fans might debate the perfect Star Wars order, there’s no denying Corenswet’s geek cred.
