‘Ahsoka’ Season 2: Four Directors Revealed, Filoni and Howard Return

Excitement for Ahsoka Season 2 continues to build as four directors have been confirmed for the upcoming season. According to updated listings on Independent Talent (via r/StarWarsLeaks), the lineup includes Star Wars veteran Dave Filoni, fan-favorite director Bryce Dallas Howard, returning director Jennifer Getzinger, and newcomer Anders Engström.

Filoni, the show’s creator and executive producer, previously directed standout episodes in Season 1, including “Part One – Master and Apprentice” and the fan-acclaimed “Part Five – Shadow Warrior.” Getzinger also helmed “Part Six – Far, Far Away,” and is confirmed to be involved again, along with Engström, on episodes 2, 3, and 7.

Howard joins Ahsoka for the first time after directing well-received episodes across The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew. Engström brings a fresh perspective to Star Wars, having directed several episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and See for Apple TV+.

It’s not yet clear whether these four will direct the entire season or if more names are yet to be announced. Production officially began on April 28, 2025, and is currently ongoing.

The returning cast features Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Eman Esfandi, Hayden Christensen, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lars Mikkelsen, David Tennant, and Ivanna Sakhno. Steve Blum returns to voice Zeb Orrelios, and Rory McCann will take over the role of Baylan Skoll following the passing of Ray Stevenson.

Season 2 will once again be written entirely by Filoni and is produced by Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, Jon Favreau, John Bartnicki, and Carrie Beck. All of Season 1 is currently streaming on Disney+, with Season 2 expected to premiere sometime in 2026.
