The anticipation for Ahsoka Season 2 is building, and one of the show’s stars is fanning the flames. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who portrays New Republic General Hera Syndulla, recently spoke with Collider while promoting her new film The Hand That Rocks the Cradle—and naturally, talk turned to the galaxy far, far away.

In the first season of Ahsoka, Hera joined forces with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren to track Imperial remnants tied to Grand Admiral Thrawn. Their investigation uncovered the construction of the Eye of Sion, a massive hyperspace ring capable of jumping between galaxies. While Ahsoka ventured to Peridea aboard the migrating Purrgil, Hera stayed behind, narrowly avoiding political fallout thanks to a little help from Leia Organa.
Now, Winstead says fans can expect a far more active Hera in the upcoming season. “I’m in this season a bit more, which is fun,” she revealed. “I’m definitely in on the action quite a bit more, which was great—to have Hera really getting some stuff done. It was an absolute blast. I loved every minute of it.”
The description fits perfectly with Hera’s roots in Star Wars Rebels, where she was rarely far from the cockpit of her beloved Ghost and often led her crew into danger. Rumors suggest Ahsoka Season 2 will deliver on that same spirit of adventure—complete with massive space battles, including a long-awaited clash between Admiral Ackbar and Grand Admiral Thrawn.
While Winstead didn’t offer specifics, her enthusiasm—and her tease of more action—suggest Hera’s role in the fight for the New Republic is far from over. Ahsoka Season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
