Despite its cancellation, The Acolyte continues to see impressive audience demand, and now star Rebecca Henderson is speaking out. Henderson, who portrayed Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh, recently took to Instagram to support the show, calling it "a massive hit for Disney+." She also hinted at the controversy surrounding its cancellation, writing, "It was canceled because IYKYK, but the fans love it and we love you."

Reports from Parrot Analytics show that The Acolyte remains one of the most in-demand streaming series, ranking in the top 2.7% of TV shows in the U.S. This surge in viewership comes despite initial low ratings, with many new fans discovering the series and longtime supporters rallying behind the #RenewTheAcolyte movement.
While some analysts, such as Luminate’s Jimmy Doyle, argue that The Acolyte struggled compared to other Star Wars shows, the show’s longevity suggests a dedicated and growing fanbase. The controversy surrounding its release, including accusations of being “woke” and a review-bombing campaign that mistakenly targeted unrelated content, may have overshadowed its strengths.
Henderson’s comments imply that backlash, rather than performance, played a major role in Disney’s decision to cancel the series. Meanwhile, Lucasfilm remains focused on Andor Season 2, Ahsoka Season 2, and the upcoming Mandalorian & Grogu movie. Whether The Acolyte will ever return in some form remains uncertain, but its lasting popularity suggests the story is far from forgotten.
