On May 4, 2025, Disney+ premiered Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, the latest installment in the animated anthology series from creator Dave Filoni. This six-episode collection spotlights two of the galaxy’s most notorious figures: Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane.

Ventress, the former Sith assassin, returns from death through Nightsister magick, as revealed in the episode "A Way Forward." Reunited with her past, she embarks on a journey to protect a young Jedi named Lyco Strata, exploring themes of redemption and identity.
In parallel, bounty hunter Cad Bane confronts his past when he crosses paths with an old friend turned lawman. His storyline delves into the complexities of loyalty and change in the criminal underworld.
Each episode runs approximately 15 minutes, offering concise yet impactful narratives. The series features voice performances by Nika Futterman (Ventress) and Corey Burton (Bane), reprising their roles from previous Star Wars projects.
Tales of the Underworld continues the tradition of exploring lesser-known corners of the Star Wars universe, following predecessors like Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire. All episodes are now available for streaming on Disney+
