The first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu has arrived, offering a packed preview of Din Djarin and Grogu’s leap from Disney+ to the big screen. The footage blends callbacks to the series with fresh storylines, new characters, and plenty of fan-pleasing Easter eggs.

The trailer opens with the Razor Crest soaring over ocean cliffs, signaling the ship’s return despite its destruction in Season 2. This new version, sporting yellow markings, seems designed to reconnect casual viewers with the iconic craft while still providing space for dazzling dogfights. The action quickly ties back to Adelphi Base, where Carson Teva’s Rangers operate, and introduces Sigourney Weaver as a New Republic general. Her scenes with Din and Grogu suggest she’ll play a key role in assigning missions, while her amused response to Grogu’s snack-stealing antics maintains the series’ balance of humor and heart.
Grogu remains a spotlight, with moments showing him fumbling with Mando’s scope, riding alongside Anzellans, and even firing his paintball darts. Meanwhile, the story hints at bigger threats. Glimpses of stormtrooper-guarded outposts, shady cityscapes (possibly Nar Shaddaa), and Imperial remnants suggest Din and Grogu will be infiltrating strongholds and skirmishing across multiple worlds. The Hutts loom large, too. Rotta the Hutt, once the infant “Stinky” from The Clone Wars, now presides over gladiatorial arena matches. Din is shown fighting a savrip—an alien from the classic dejarik holochess board—and later clashing with massive droids marked with Jabba’s clan seal, pointing toward a heist or mission against Hutt interests.
The trailer sprinkles in deep-cut lore for longtime fans, including a terrifying Amani in the sewers, Zeb from Rebels taking down stormtroopers, and a U-Wing cameo anchoring the action firmly in the New Republic era. One standout sequence shows Din dismantling an AT-AT from the inside out, reinforcing the promise of cinematic-scale spectacle.
The accompanying poster teases even more: Din locked in battle with a dragon-like creature and the return of the Hutt Twins from The Book of Boba Fett. Together, these hints suggest a story where New Republic politics, Hutt rivalries, and legacy callbacks collide—while Din and Grogu’s bond remains the heart of the adventure.
